A Year of Writing the Negative Foods Newsletter
The One Year Anniversary Edition (51st) of the Negative Foods Newsletter
I’m planning a cross-country drive to visit the farms, food companies and people doing the important work to transform the food system to help reverse climate change. Send me your ideas!
This newsletter launched on April 25th, 2021, and next Friday will be the 52d edition. This anniversary edition is a recap of my favorites.
The Manifesto. The manifesto was the most personal edition, as I declared the mission for the rest of my career.
Systems Thinking. In my favorite editions we considered how things can and will change in the future, and the roles that different actors will play in the transformation of the food system.
Regulations, Certifications & Labeling. We also covered the context and frameworks in which carbon neutral/negative food brands are operating.
Categories. Most of the editions were covering particular companies in particular categories, such as beef, wine, almonds, beer, oysters, dog food, chicken, tea, kelp, upcycled beverages, bread, coffee, chocolate, cheese, and olives. I love these companies and intend to do everything I can to help them succeed.
Writing this newsletter for a full year has been such a fabulous experience.
Thank you for making it possible!
Congrats on the 1 year anniversary Paul! This newsletter has provided so much value and insight into the agricultural industry for me. If you are in/around PA on your cross country farm trip - stop up at Rodale Institute. I would be happy to show you around.
Double Brook Farm in Hopewell, NJ is also quite the vertically integrated farm.
